Most of us can remember a specific teacher or adult who has had a long-lasting influence on our lives. But before we are old enough to attend school, we learn important life lessons from our very first teachers: moms, parents, and caregivers. This Mother’s Day, we wanted to share our appreciation and gratitude for the original learning and development (L&D) advocates: moms, parents, and all caregivers. Did you know that there are over two billion moms in the world, with 82.5 million in the United States alone? By the time we are two years old, our moms, parents, or caregivers will have changed an average of 7,300 diapers. But besides tending to our basic needs and reminding us to clean our rooms, put away our toys, and eat our vegetables, moms, parents, and caregivers also offer sage advice that can shape our lives and our professional future. To celebrate Mother’s Day, we polled our team members on the most memorable words of wisdom they heard from their mothers, parents, and caregivers. Here’s what they shared:
